Efforts today will focus on new line construction and strengthening existing fire lines. Red Flag conditions are expected today, with winds of 25 to 30 mph, slightly warmer temperatures and low relative humidity. Increased fire behavior is possible.

The Southwest Area Incident Management Team assumed responsibility for management of the Picture Fire at 5:30 a.m. today. To date, no structures have been lost and no serious injuries have occurred.

All recreational sites, boating sites and roads in the Roosevelt Lake area remain open, however the Cholla Campground is closed to the public as it is being used for fire operations. Please respect all fire restrictions that are in place. Extreme fire danger conditions are present throughout Tonto National Forest. As always, we appreciate your cooperation and patience.
