Growth Potential for the Picture Fire

Growth potential for the fire is high, and possibly extreme, due to ponderosa pine and juniper killed by bark beetles.

Strong winds on Friday caused the Picture Fire in the Tonto National Forest, north of Roosevelt Lake, to make a 2.5 mile run.

Windy conditions, along with high temperatures and low humidity have made continued
to make firefighting more difficult and hazardous.
