Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano plans to visit the Nuttall Fire Complex today. The Governor will arrive at the Safford Airport around 3:45 p.m. and fire officials will take her on an aerial tour of the Nuttall Fire Complex. She will then attend a community meeting for Graham and Greenlee County residents in the evening, starting at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Ruth Powell Elementary School , located at 1041 14 th Avenue in Safford.

The Nuttall Complex includes two wildland fires that were started by lightning on June 22 and 26, respectively. They have burned over 25,000 acres and continue to threaten 100 summer homes and the Mt. Graham International Observatory within the Coronado National Forest southeast of Safford. The fire damaged a fire lookout tower and a building, which houses electronic communications equipment and has forced the evacuation of seasonal residents.
